Court — Thursday

• Julie Helfrich made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

• Guyan Michael Garrett Lucas made an initial appearance on an assault causing bodily injury charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 16. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

• Eric Ramon Lasley made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment hearing. The public defender’s office will remain as counsel. The arraignment hearing will be rescheduled for Nov. 15. Lasley is released on his promise to appear.

Incidents

• On Wednesday, a case of vandalism to property was reported in the 400 block of North 10th Avenue.

• On Wednesday, a case of damage to property was reported in the 900 block of East Main Street.

• On Tuesday, Zane Aaron Dolash, 38, was cited for no proof of insurance.

Arrests

• On Tuesday, Molly Gummert, 31, was arrested for trespass.

• On Tuesday, Zane Dolash, 38, was arrested for driving under suspension and on a warrant.

• On Tuesday, Matthew Scheid, 34, was arrested for theft-third degree.

• On Tuesday, Mary Logemann, 40, was arrested for trespass.

• On Tuesday, Joseph Ashby, 36, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Shawn Menter, 41, was arrested for assault causing bodily injury.

• On Thursday, Tayren Rockingham, 20, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Wednesday, a cargo van driven by Steven Robert Harless, 39, of Des Moines, was westbound in the 700 block of East Anson Street when it stopped and began backing up colliding with a car driven by Debra Ann Campbell, 68, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Harless was cited for unsafe backing on a highway. Damage to the Harless cargo van was estimated at $100 while the Campbell car received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

• On Tuesday, a pickup driven by Larry Amos Brown, 64, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Third Avenue when it attempted a left turn crossing the path of a car driven by Cristina Lisbeth Polomares-Diaz, 18, of Marshalltown, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Brown was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn. Damage to the Brown pickup was estimated at $2,000 while the Polomares-Diaz car received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

• On Tuesday, a vehicle driven by Amador Guevara, 18, of Marshalltown, was attempting to pickup up a dropped cell phone when the vehicle left the roadway and sideswiped a tree. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Guevara vehicle was estimated at $2,500 while the tree sustained an estimated $100 in damage.

• On Tuesday, a semi driven by Kenneth William Gerdes, 61, of Ankeny, was backing out of an alleyway onto South Center Street when it collided with a legally parked Chrysler Town and Country. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Chrysler was estimated at $2,500.

• On Tuesday, a car driven by Cameron D. Williams Jr., 23, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Summit Street with a frosted over windshield when it collided with a legally parked Jeep Liberty. No injuries were reported. Williams was cited for windshield and window requirement violation. Damage to the Williams car was estimated at $5,000 while the Jeep Liberty sustained an estimated $3,000.

• On Monday, Terese Marie Odin, 53, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Bryant Jameson Bear, 36, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense and no insurance.

• On Tuesday, Allison Marie Haines, 23, was arrested for failure to maintain control, child endangerment-no injury and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Tuesday, Molly June Gummert, 31, was arrested for assault on a peace officer and others.

• On Wednesday, Eric Ramone Lasley, 43, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Julie Ann Helfrich, 50, was arrested on a warrant.
