Man charged with meth possession

Earlier this week, the Marshalltown Police Department arrested Robert Steven Sanders, 34, on a warrant issued as a result of an incident in September of last year, according to Capt. Brian Batterson of the MPD.
Sanders was charged with with possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine when officers discovered 11.4 grams of methamphetamine found under the seat of the vehicle he was a passenger in. That charge is categorized as a Class B felony. Additionally, Sanders was charged with a Tax Stamp violation, a Class D felony, possession of a controlled substance -third offense marijuana – a Class D felony.
Sanders was appointed a public defender. His preliminary hearing is 1 p.m. on Feb. 16. Bond is $25,000 cash or surety.
