CONRAD –In the past few years it is not uncommon to see Quilts of Valor being presented to men and women who have served their communities as veterans.

But this past Saturday evening during Black Dirt Days 2018, the men and women who serve the Conrad community as members of the local volunteer fire department and /or on the Beaman Conrad Emergency Response Team (BCERTs) were honored with such a quilt to hang in the new fire station on the east edge of Conrad.

The quilt was made by Julie (Mrs. John) McNair and was quilted by Janice (Mrs. Dave) Juchems. The inscription on the quilt reads: Among the Stars “In honor of the men and women volunteers of the Conrad Fire Department and the Beaman Conrad Emergency Response Team”
