Funding historical preservation

By Times Republican 1 min read

Recently the Marshalltown High School Class of 1971 donated funds to the Historical Society of Marshall County, inspired to give back after the July 19 tornado. The class started a GoFundMe page, with the intent of raising $1,971, and ended up securing $4,700. Wanting to donate the money to a particular entity instead of a general fund, the Historical Society was selected as the beneficiary. HSMC Administrator Michelle Roseburrough, right, takes class members Nancy Roush Morrow and Karen Warden Milan on a tour of the Mowry Irvine Mansion where the HSMC relocated to after the tornado. Funds will go to maintain the organization's historical preservation efforts.
