Football Cheese Ball

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1/2 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix

1/2 slice American cheese, sliced into strips

Mix together the cream cheese, shredded Cheddar, green onion, Worcestershire sauce and taco seasoning mix in a large bowl. Press the cheese mixture into a ball, turn it out onto a sheet of plastic wrap.

Use the plastic wrap to press the cheese ball into the shape of a football by flattening the ball and rounding each end. Place the cheese football on a plate, arrange the strips of American cheese like laces on the top of the cheese football. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours.

Remove the cheese ball from the refrigerator 30 minutes before serving. Makes 18 servings.

Sausage-Stuffed Cherry Pepper Poppers

1/2 pound Italian sausage, casings removed

2 (14 ounce) jars pickled red peppers, drained

2 teaspoons olive oil, divided

1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line two pie plates with aluminum foil.

Pinch about 1/2 teaspoon sausage off and roll into a small oval shape. Stuff the sausage piece into a pepper. Repeat with remaining sausage and peppers.

Drizzle 1 teaspoon olive oil into each foil-lined pie plate and divide the stuffed peppers into each one. Rotate the plates to roll and coat poppers in the oil.

Roast poppers in the preheated oven until the sausage is cooked through and the poppers are very slightly dried out, about 20 minutes. Let cool before serving. Arrange onto a serving platter and sprinkle with parsley. Makes around 30 servings.

Touchdown Pizza

1 (14 ounce) package prebaked pizza crust

1 cup diced cooked chicken breast

3 tablespoons Buffalo wing sauce

1 (4 ounce) package crumbled blue cheese

1 stalk celery, thinly sliced

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

Place pizza crust on the prepared baking sheet.

Mix chicken and 3 tablespoons wing sauce together in a bowl until evenly coated.

Spread 1/2 cup wing sauce on the pizza crust. Top with blue cheese, chicken mixture and celery. Cover pizza with mozzarella cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven until pizza is cooked through and cheese is bubbling, about 12 minutes. Cool pizza about five minutes before cutting into squares. Makes six servings.

Maple-Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 teaspoon baking soda

Beat together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar with an electric mixer until smooth. Add one egg. Beat until blended into the butter mixture. Add the remaining egg, vanilla extract and maple extract. Beat until well blended and slightly fluffy. Stir in the flour mixture a little at a time, mixing just until combined.
