Police ask for public assistance finding missing boy

Brown

The Marshalltown, Iowa Police Department would like the public’s assistance in locating Corey Brown. He is 13 years old, 5’0, brown hair and 98 pounds.

Corey was last seen in the area of Jackie Terrace around 11:15 p.m. He was walking southbound from Jackie Terrace. Corey was wearing a red shirt, black pants, grey tennis shoes with a lime green Nike logo, a black and lime green coat and a Seattle Seahawks stocking cap.

A search command post formed at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, 211 W. Olive St. Close to 200 people were there at 2 p.m. Wednesday to volunteer to help search. The group also said prayers for his return and his family.

Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper said the authorities are ramping up their search efforts. He said the best thing people can do is get on social media and share updates. The authorities do not want people going out to search on their own as it could hinder their efforts, he said. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office is also assisting with the search.

“Parents please talk to your children and check your homes,” Michelle Brown, Corey’s mother, said. “If you have ever had any connection to Corey, please keep looking.”
