Two men died in a car accident in Grundy County on Sunday.
A car driven by Justin Kime, 21, of Stewartville, Minn., was northbound on Highway 14 when it lost control on the snow-covered roadway, crossed the center line and collided with a semi driven by Laurence Smith, 27, of St. Louis, who was traveling south on Highway 14. Kime and passenger Tristan Marlow, 21, of Council Bluffs, were taken to area hospitals where they died from injuries. Smith was not injured.
Damage to the semi was estimated at $41,000. The accident remains under investigation by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa Department of Transportation Enforcement.
