Robert Boeyink, 88, of Marshalltown, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Jeffrey (Maria), Gregory (Maureen) and Andrew (Jennifer); 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and their families: Joel Boeyink, David Boeyink and Mark Boeyink; and his caregiver of many years. James R. “Jim” Snow, 93, of Traer, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. It was Jim and Ramona’s wish to be cremated and they will have a combined Memorial Service in the future, after she passes. Their cremains will then be interred together at Buckingham Cemetery in Traer. Sara Kurth, age 81, of Marshalltown, passed away in the care of the Iowa River Hospice with her family at her side. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 1st (please note date) at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 30th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date. Shirley Hesse

The kind and loving presence of Shirley Hesse, age 92, of Marshalltown, most recently Des Moines, left this earthly life on Thursday, April 23rd, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines with family at her side. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 28th, at the Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Dani Musselman officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home.

Norma Smith

Norma Smith, 96, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, surrounded by family at her residence. Norma was under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. A visitation will be held beginning 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Homes, prior to the graveside service. Further arrangements are pending with Anderson Funeral Homes. Joseph F. Selk, 93, of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at UnityPoint Health - Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He is survived by his sisters-in-law: Andrea Selk and Marlyne Selk; and ten nieces and nephews, and their families. Per Joe’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
