Marshalltown High School swim team ended its dual season with an easy win over Fort Dodge 113-49 as Senior Meredith Johnson had two individual victories, the 50 yard freestyle and the 500 yard free and Senior Emily Visser took the 200 yard freestyle.

Seventh students from Anson and Miller Middle Schools: Carissa Bryant, Michelle Malecha, Danielle Perry, Drew Thomas, David Baitinger, Paul Krier and Sarah Dahlke were selected to represent the Smoke-Free Class of the year 2000 in the 1994 Central Iowa Red Ribbon Parade and Rally.

BCL Comets bombed Wellsburg 43-14 as Kevin Moler headed up the offense with 160 yards on 10 carries with one touchdown while Mark Schwienebart finished with 138 yards and one touchdown and Kevin Hill 110 yards and three touchdowns.

The West Marshall Trojan volleyball squad captured the opening round of the Class 2A Region seven playoff against rival BCLUW 25-16, 27-25 and 26-24 as Molly Underwood led with 18 digs, Taylor Davis with 14 assists and Kylie Davis with 12 kills.

MHS football squad stunned the Ames Little Cyclones 26-6 as Adam Shephard rushed for 116 yards on 29 carries for one touchdown.

The Lenihan ninth grade football team remained undefeated with the 15-0 win over Ames Central as Kent Stackhouse sparked the defense with 14 tackles.

MHS football team beat Fort Dodge 16-10 to secure its first Central Iowa Metro League Iowa Conference championship as Austin Ruddick finished the game with 116 yards rushing on 14 carries and one touchdown.

GMG halfback Ryan Schulte ignited the Wolverines rushing 235 yards on 25 carries and scored three touchdowns in the 27-14 win over Northeast Hamilton.

The Miller ninth grade cheerleaders were: Cindy Sawyer, Patti Lammert, Lori Langcaster, Charlene Miles, Kristin Irvine, Julie Weeden, Ann Ryden, Michelle Wobeter, Sherri Dreessen, Whitney Gethmann, Vicky Ward and Sheri Klaas.

MHS quarterback Chanse Creekmur was named the Iowa Network Services Class 4A Player of the Week for the game against Waukee when he completed 25-of-39 passes for 346 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for one touchdown.

MHS volleyball team rolled past Newton 15-7, 15-3 and 15-6 as Rebecca Albert was outstanding in nearly all facets of the game as she was 11-for-11 at the net with four kills and 18 assets, 10-of-11 serving with two aces, four digs and six blocks.

The Green Mountain fall play “Your Guests, Our Ghosts” starred the talents of Randy Chesick as Tex; David Groth as Zeke Washington; Annette Squire as Circe the Witch; Lowell Moyer as Colonel Smedley and Jeff Chesick as Andrew.
