The Central Iowa Quilt Sew-ciety will hold its monthly meeting on Aug. 1 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 1011 S. Third Ave., Marshalltown.

The group did not meet in July to observe Independence Day. Social time starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by a 6 p.m. meeting. The program for the night will be a “Back to School” event with members from the group demonstrating quilting techniques.

Next months program wil; be Ann Van Thomme, owner of the new “Off The Rails” quilt shop in Bondurant. Her topic will be “Stash Busting 101.”

The CIQS meets the first Tuesday of each month. Guests are welcome. Anyone interested in becoming a member can call Arlene Wenzel at 641-751-8898.
