John B. Pieper was awarded a quilt of Valor at Bickford Home on Veterans Day by members of the Central Iowa Quilt Sew-ciety; Gloria DeBower, Mary Jane Hazelwood and Marvis Drew. Pieper served for the U.S. Air Force in personal from 1950-1970. He worked at the Iowa Veterans Home as Personnel Director under Commandant Jack Dack. His quilt Water Lily was pieced by CIQS member Margaret Vannetta and quilted by MaryBeth Pusillo. Pieper is pictured here with is quilt surrounded by his family.
