Two members receive 50-year certificates

The Spinning Wheel Chapter NSDAR met Oct. 19 at Glenwood Place. A brunch was served with Regent Barbara Wacha as hostess.

Capt. Chris Jones, of the Marshalltown Police Department, spoke about the new Police and Fire Department facility. He told of the advantages of the new building and of the many years that went into the planning, finding the location, joining with the Fire Department and acquiring the funding required to get to the present building. It is a building to be proud of.

After a short business meeting Registrar Marlys Ankrum and Chaplin Diane Hobson were awarded 50-year membership certificates by Wacha.

Next month’s meeting will be at 1 p.m. on Nov. 15 at Glenwood Place. Hostesses will be Susan Hibbs and Pauline Smith.
