Emergency Food Box holds quarterly meeting

The Emergency Food Box held its first quarterly meeting on Jan. 16 at the Marshalltown Public Library. Chair Gary Fulton introduced two new board members Meg Sponseller and Rev. Jeff Kodis. They join board members; Matt Broshar, Julie Brouwer, Gary Bryant, Janet Collison, John Eich, Fulton, Ed Jackson, Mary Jefferson, LeRoy Jero, Rose Ann Jero, Leon Lamer, Bob Maile, Edith Podhajsky, Eldon Schneider, Rev. Nan Smith and Joe Wauters to complete the 18 member board.

The board members had an opportunity to sign up for 2020 committees. The Building and Grounds Committee plans some maintenance projects for the spring including a serving room upgrade.

Cindy Staron Operations Committee co-chair will be evaluating food given to clients.

The board chose a design for an Emergency Food Box Banner. The board approved closing the EFB on July 3 since July 4 is on a Saturday this year. The board elected officers for 2020. They are chair Gary Fulton, secretary Rose Ann Jero and treasurer LeRoy Jero.
