Psi Chapter learns of family development resources

Psi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met at 5 p.m. on Monday at the Fisher Community Center. President Michelle Ritter greeted members with hot chocolate and tea and an assortment of heart-shaped cookies.

The program was presented by and Abra Huffaker Family Development partnership manager for Marshall County Family Development a part of Mid-Iowa Community Action helping people change lives and building communities.

She shared information on the wide variety of programs available to carry out the mission of enriching families. A case manager is provided to connect the client with available resources such as WIC, child health, LIHEAP, Head Start and Early Head Start. The presentation was followed by an opportunity to ask Huffaker many questions.

The March meeting will offer a service opportunity. Psi members will meet with a girl scout troop at Hoglan Elementary. More details will be emailed to members.
