The Marshalltown Evening Lions met Feb. 19 at Smokin’ G’s for a regular club meeting. Tyler Bell, left, a Marshalltown native, presented a program about his career as an associate professor at the University of Iowa, researching Echo See technology and other ways to help the blind “see” using sound; one of the Lions’ core projects. The Evening Lions Club will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary on April 18, at the American Legion and invite area residents to contact Lion Tim Fienup at tfienup@gmail.com to attend the celebration. The celebration will include a dinner and history of the club program at 6 p.m. and/or a Trivia Contest Fundraiser at 8 p.m.
