Sigma Master plans for Bi-State Convention

Caralee Hutchens, president Sigma Master Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi thanked Alice Nicholson for hosting the meeting on Feb. 25 at Dairy Queen, South Center Street.

Eight members and two guests answered the roll call question: “Are you watching the Cubs now on the new Marquee Sports Network?” Only two Cardinal fans declined.

Seven members were marked as absent with various health reasons as provided by Dorothy Perry. Guest Jackie Fiscus informed the group of her recent three-day testing at University Hospital in Iowa City as recommended by the Mayo Clinic Minnesota.

Minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer’s report were given, corrected and approved. Hutchens has received information regarding Founder’s Day and the club will observe the occasion on April 14. No information has been received from Alpha Gamma regarding Founder’s Day so decisions are being made to celebrate with Sigma Master Chapter.

Information for the Beta Sigma Phi Iowa/Illinois Bi-State Convention scheduled for June 26-28 to be held in Moline, Ill. was received. Muscatine Chapter will be taking registrations. “Rollin’ On The River” is the theme on the Celebration Bell Riverboat.

With the closing of the meeting, it was announced LaVonne Pollard will host the next meeting on March 10.
