100 Women Who Care donates to Senior Center

The Marshalltown philanthropic group, 100 Women Who Care, voted at the last meeting to donate to the renovation of the Senior Citizen Center.
The center lost its home in the 2018 tornado and was also uprooted from a temporary spot in the 2020 derecho. The new location is at 207 E. Church St. in Marshalltown. The Center has been closed due to the pandemic and the aftermath of the derecho so when the renovations are completed, it will be the first time opening its doors in many months. The light filled new space has areas for conversation, crafts, quilting and computer usage and is fully handicapped accessible. Long anticipates the center opening by the end of September.
The organization, 100 Women Who Care, is open to any woman in the Marshalltown area. The next meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 at Elmwood Country Club, 1734 Country Club Lane. Bring any project ideas for consideration to be funded.
