Ave Maria Study Club will honor its namesake

The Ave Maria Study Club met in the Madonna Room at St. Henry Church at 1 p.m. on Sept. 20. Rose Ann Jero led the meeting with nine members and guest, Geri Best, present. The Rosary was prayed to open the meeting. In recognition of Grandparents Day on Sept. 12, all present shared a memory of their grandparents.

Jean Miller led a prayer for Protection during Pandemic, written by Archbishop Jose Gomez, president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Instead of outside speakers this year, the Study Club will dedicate this year to its name sake, Ave Maria, and because of the uncertainty due to the pandemic, members will be notified about whether it will meet and the content of the upcoming meeting. At each meeting Mary will be remembered by a work of art or the story of an apparition. Jero brought a picture and shared the history of Mary as Our Lady of Czestochowa, known as the Black Madonna in Poland, at this meeting.

The meeting closed with the Act of Faith.

The next meeting will be Oct. 8 in the Madonna Room at St. Henry Church at 1 p.m. with Marge Higgins speaking about the parish trip taken on July 1, 2021, to Our Lady of Guadalupe located near LaCrosse, WI.

Starting at $4.38/week.
