Linda McCann, an Iowa author, was the guest speaker at the Oct. 4 P.E.O. Chapter BB meeting at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in the Martha Ellen Tye conference room.

She spoke about the World War II POWs that were held captive in Iowa. Members had the opportunity to purchase books she has authored following her talk.

Bailey Rarick who has moved to Marshalltown was a guest from Chapter JY in Des Moines. Cynthia “Boo” Mansager served as hostess. President Carolyn Anderson conducted the business meeting. Members were reminded about the Local Scholarship Fundraiser. The results of a few of the amendments from the recent International Convention were reviewed.

Mary Kenagy noted that the Christmas social will be at the Binford House in December. The next meeting will be held at Sandy Short’s home on Oct. 18 with Jean Brennecke and Sue Cope as co-hostesses.
