Chapter JU of the P.E.O. Sisterhood held its business meeting on Oct. 18 at the Lincoln Towers community room.

Sixteen members were present. Reports were given by Cindy Wise and Marlys Smith concerning scholarships that are available through P.E.O.

Mary Bloomquist conducted a memorial service in honor of the five deceased members of the chapter. They included Geraldine Reichlinger, Shirley Bowman, Dorothy Wilson, Betty Collison and Janet Mead. The ladies were all included in the Greatest Generation for contributions to the chapter and the community.

The next meeting will be Nov. 1 at Trinity Lutheran Church. The program will be the annual bazaar. Members were reminded of the forum for the school board candidates to be held at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 19 at the Coliseum.
