Chapter MJ visits Lillie Mae Chocolates
The regular monthly meeting of P.E.O. Chapter MJ was held on Nov. 1. Members met at Lillie Mae Chocolates on 13th Street in Marshalltown where owner, Aimee Deimerly-Schneider, told of the history of the business which began in 1939.
She and her husband, Tom, purchased it 19 years ago and recently moved the business to the 13th Street location. A review of the various hand-made candies plus market strategies were shared by Deimerly-Schneider. The business has a goal of making people happy.
Then members of MJ relocated to the home of Janice Ott where the Zoom meeting was held. Barb McBride served as co-hostess. Dec. 6 will be the next regular meeting at 6 p.m. for the annual Salad Supper at Hope United Methodist Church. Everyone is to bring a salad and the recipe to sell to other MJ members. Founder’s Day will be celebrated Jan. 3, 2022, at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 7 p.m.
