Members of the Central Iowa Quilt Sew-Ciety awarded a Quilt of Valor to John Munson at his home on Nov. 2. Munson was wrapped in his quilt by Carrie Glessner and Gloria DeBower and his history was read by Marilyn Kidd. Munson was recognized for his service in the Navy during the 1980’s. The woman pictured beside Munson is DeBower from the Quilt Sew-Ciety. The presentations can take place in almost any setting. This can be at home, for an individual, such as Munson. Sometimes quilts are awarded to more than one member of a family in a home setting or at a family gathering.
