Ave Maria Study Club closes year making future plans

The Ave Maria Study Club held a luncheon at the Tremont on June 10 for the final meeting of the 2021-22 year and will resume meetings in September. Rose Ann Jero led a prayer before the meal and conducted a short business meeting after the meal.

Acting President Jero welcomed back President Ann Ramsdall who has been unable to be active due to a lengthy illness. Jero thanked Ramsdall for serving the Ave Maria Study Club as president for several years.

Betty Pieper from the Nominating Committee presented the slate of nominees for officers for the 2022-23 season. Nominees for Co-Presidents, Jero and Sandy Good, Nominee for Secretary, Edith Podhajsky and Nominee for Treasurer, Marge Higgins were all voted in unanimously.

Jean Miller from the Program Committee presented the topics of upcoming programs they have chosen for the meetings from September 2022 thru June 2023. The programs will be included in the new program books to be given to members in August.

The meeting closed with prayer.

The group will again hold its regular meetings in the Madonna Room at St. Henry in the coming year. Ave Maria Study Club looks forward to the new year with several new members having joined during the 2021-22 year. To mark the closing of the year, members gathered together at St. Henry at 4:30 p.m. on June 11 for Mass celebrated for former and current Ave Maria members.
