Laurel Auxiliary receives membership award

LAUREL — The Harold McBroom Laurel American Legion Auxiliary Post number 635 met at the Laurel Legion Home with six members present.

LaDonna Runner, president, called the meeting to order.

Laura Tribby opened the meeting with prayer.

Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance, stood in silence for POWs, MIAs and deceased veterans. Members recited the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was read and accepted for audit.

A report was given on distribution of poppies. A certificate was given to the Laurel Auxiliary for meeting their membership goal this year. A motion was made to pay the lady who made the poppies that the Laurel unit distributed.

Tana Dixion received her membership pin for joining the Laurel Auxiliary.

Election of officers was held. All officers agreed to retain their office for another year.
