Liscomb Legion Auxiliary host June meeting
LISCOMB — Liscomb Legion Auxiliary met at 1:30 p.m. on June 9 at the home of Sharon Hatch in Whitten. President Hatch called the meeting to order, chaplain pro-tem Sharmon Norris gave opening devotions. A moment of silence was observed for the MIA/POW and deceased veterans, followed by Pledge of Allegiance and Auxiliary Preamble.
The secretary read minutes of previous meeting, minutes were approved.
There were five ladies present.
Hatch received three Third District Merit Award thank-yous.
She read a poem for Flag Day on June 14.
Dues of $20 can be collected now from members. Hatch said American Legion and Auxiliary Conference is July 7-10 at Hotel Fort Des Moines. No Unit 87 members are going. The Unit ladies plan to visit Corrine in Embers the end of July.
Norris read a prayer from Isaiah.
Candy Wait brought refreshments.
Next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. on July 7 at Vickie Penner’s home in Liscomb. Penner provided a take home favor for each member.
Karrigan and Shelton Hatch gave a program on Shelton winning the Merit Award. Shelton got a BS degree in Agriculture ands has traveled to all states helping famers with feed and supplements for their animals. Karrigan is going to college for nursing degree, hasn’t decided on her field. She is going to Mayo Clinic for training. She has been a CNA since 16 years old.
