Marvis Drew, Quilt of Valor coordinator for Central Iowa Quilt Sew-ciety, awarded the 400th quilt to Dennis Borton, of LeGrand. Borton was in the Iowa Army National Guard for 6 years In the military police unit. CIQS is a group with the national Quilts of Valor foundation who honors Veterans and service members touched by war from Marshall and Tama counties. The group meets the first Tuesday of each month at Grace Church at 5:30 p.m. for refreshments. Programs are held at each meeting focusing on quilting aspects, followed by a short business meeting and show and tell by members.
