Laurel Legion Auxiliary holds August meeting

LAUREL — The Harold McBroom Laurel American Legion Auxiliary #635 met at the Laurel Legion Home with five members present.

President LaDonna Runner called the meeting to order. Laura Tribby gave the opening Prayer. Members recited the Pledge of allegiance, stood in silence for POW’s, MIA’s and deceased veterans. Members recited the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Minutes of the last meeting were approved as read. The treasurers report was given and approved for audit.

Discussion was held to purchase hand sanitizer for the East Marshall grade school in Laurel. Nancy Schroyer made a motion to purchase the hand sanitizer and seconded by Tana Dixon.

A reminder was discussed about the Christmas Swap on Nov. 5 at the Laurel Legion Hall. A white Elephant party will be held at the Nov. 16 meeting, to celebrate Christmas.

Members were asked to look over the by-laws before the September meeting so any changes could be made.

Tribby gave the closing prayer. Meeting was adjourned.
