The Assistance League of Marshalltown will be holding its annual Fall Thrift Sale from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 30.

The sale will be held at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 20 W. State St, Marshalltown. Since this is also Homecoming weekend, a Bobcat apparel store will be available while items last. Come scoop up gently used Marshalltown Bobcat clothing before heading to the football game Friday night.

A sack sale will be held from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 30. During the sack sale, each person can buy a large garbage bag for $10. All items they can fit in the bag, they can have for the cost of the sack — $10.

Assistance League is a group of 40 women that volunteer time and talents to raising money, then giving it back to the Marshalltown community. Thrift Sale, which is held twice a year, is one of its largest fundraising events. The sale has been going since the 1960’s.
