Laurel Legion Auxiliary discusses Christmas Swap
LAUREL — The Harold McBroom Laurel American Legion Auxiliary #635 met at the Laurel Legion Home with seven members present. LaDonna Runner opened the meeting. Laura Tribby gave the opening prayer.
Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance, stood in silence for P.O.W’s M.I.A’s and deceased veterans. Members recited the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was read and accepted for audit.
In new business the by laws were reviewed and two of them were changed. After discussion Laura Tribby made a motion to get rid of the coat rack in the Legion Hall and some folding chairs in the storage building. It was seconded by Rhea Osland. Missy Sharer Peiters had inquired about serving chicken and noodles at the Christmas Swap. Because for lack of room this was not approved.
The Christmas Swap hours were changed this year to 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Nov. 3 and from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Nov. 4. People can bring items in at this time. Date of the Christmas Swap will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Nov. 5 at the Laurel Legion Home.
In old business President Runner reported that she had purchased boxes of hand sanitizer for East Marshall Grade School.
After the closing prayer the meeting was adjourned.
