Liscomb Auxiliary plans busy October

LISCOMB — Liscomb Legion Auxiliary Unit 87 met at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the home of Sharon Hatch in Whitten. Four members answered roll call. Chaplain Dorothy Sorensen gave opening devotions. Meeting was conducted by president Hatch. A moment of silence was observed for the MIA\POW and deceased veterans. Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the Auxiliary Preamble. The secretary read previous minutes and they were approved.

Marshall County Fall Conference is planned for 9 a.m. on Oct. 15 at Beaman Memorial Hall, Beaman.

Third District Fall Conference will be Oct. 22 at Reinbeck. Registration is $2 and lunch is provided for $8. The cedar red schoolhouse will be at both conferences for Merit donations and applications to Unit President will be handed out by the Merit Committee.

The members discussed poppy order, with the secretary ordering these by the Oct. 20 deadline.

Next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 at Vickie Penners home in Liscomb.

Hatch served lunch with fall decorations, she gave each member gourds and pumpkins to take home.
