Ave Maria Study Club members challenged to write faith story

The Ave Maria Study Club met at 1 p.m. on Nov. 11 in the Madonna Room at St. Henry Church. The meeting started with praying the Rosary for members’ intentions, including prayers for the four youth from the community who lost their lives in the tragic car accident recently, as well as for families and friends, and for the priests from St. Francis Parish, that they be given the strength needed to lead and bring comfort to these families and friends in their grief. Also prayed for on that Veterans Day were all Veterans, as well as for all deceased members of Ave Maria Study Club. Following the Rosary, refreshments were served by hostesses Joan Studts and Helen Ramsey.

The program, the final segment of the video “The Making of a Catholic Priest,” was viewed, in which Fr. Stephen Gadberry challenged everyone to be evangelists by sharing the love of Christ with those they encounter in their everyday lives. This inspired Co-President Rose Ann Jero, who had recently attended the National Council of Catholic Women Convention and had been challenged there to share the love of Christ with those in their everyday lives by writing her faith story. This moved her to speak to the Ave Maria group of her own faith story and she then challenged the members to also share the love of God with family by writing each member’s faith story.

The business meeting that followed was conducted by Co-President Sandy Good, which included making plans for the Ave Maria Christmas celebration on Dec. 9, with members bringing a side dish or something sweet, and it is hoped to be able to have a musical group from St. Francis School again perform for the group.

The meeting closed with the Prayer for Priests and The Act of Faith.
