Evening Lions hear Salvation Army program
Abby Nicholai (and Alice) visited the Marshalltown Evening Lions last Wednesday to tell the club’s members of all the ways the Salvation Army is providing help and solutions to many people in Marshalltown. Nicholai, and husband, Chris, came to town last summer as Lieutenants, working as pastors, and directors of both the State Street building and the Thrift Store on 13th Street. They are coming into the busiest season now, with the Red Kettle Campaign starting Nov. 11, readying a Thanksgiving meal soon, serving through the food pantry and having children’s day camps and “Kids Clubs” each week. Nicholai shared of many ways Marshalltown Lions and other citizens can get involved and help the Salvation Army help others and was presented with a Lions mug by First Vice-President Steven Hyde at the Nov. 2 meeting.
