The Annual P.E.O. Reciprocity Christmas Tea was held at the First United Methodist Church on Dec. 5.

The program included honoring Milestone Members from Chapter BB Catherine Lester, 60 years a P.E.O., from Chapter JU Eleanor Stegmann, 50 years a P.E.O., from Chapter MJ Becky Hagen and Paula Rutherford both 50-year P.E.O.s and Barb Runneals a 70-year P.E.O. Chapter BB was honored as a Milestone Chapter for its 125th anniversary.

A pictorial tribute with narration was presented for sisters who died during the past year: Arlene Benson, JU, a six-year P.E.O., Marilyn Dodd, LT, a 75-year P.E.O., Mardis Murphy, JU, a 71-year P.E.O, and Joyce Haws, MJ, a 67-year P.E.O. 

Tuesday Musical presented a concert which included vocal and instrumental music under the direction of Deborah Nuss. The afternoon concluded with coffee and homemade goodies in the fellowship hall.

P.E.O. is an international sisterhood founded in 1869 in Mount Pleasant. There are about 200,000 members throughout the United States and Canada. The mission is women helping women meet educational goals through scholarships, grants and loans. P.E.O. owns Cottey College located in Nevada, Mo. There are five chapters in Marshalltown and one in State Center.
