Liscomb Auxiliary prepares Valentines for Vets
LISCOMB — Liscomb Legion Auxiliary Unit 87 met at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 8 at the home of Sharon Hatch in Whitten. President Hatch opened the meeting, the devotional prayer was from Chaplain Dorothy Sorensen. Five members were in attendance. The group recited the Pledge of Allegiance and Auxiliary Preamble followed by a moment of silence for the MIA/POW and deceased veterans.
Minutes of the December meeting were read and approved. Treasurer Candy Wait gave her report. The Unit made out Valentines for local Veterans and sent out 25 Valentines made by Vicki Penner.
Third District Spring Conference is March 11 at Whitehill Building at the Iowa Veterans Home. Registration is 8 a.m. Lunch is $6, paid at registration.
Marshall County Spring Conference is March 25 at Laurel.
The next meeting is March 1 at the Union Public Library. Wait is bringing lunch at 1:30 p.m. April meeting is April 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the Union Public Library. Sharmon is bringing lunch.
The Unit has to do Unit impact reports in March. May do 20 tray favors for Assisted Living in Conrad.
Chaplain gave closing prayers for peace.
Sorensen motioned to adjourn. She read “The Garden Seed Catalog.”
Lunch was served by hostess Hatch. A Valentine box of candy was given as a tray favor by Penner.
