The Marshalltown Federation of Women’s Clubs Board meeting was Jan. 26, with returning president, Cynthia Hubbard, presiding and eight members present. Welcomed to the board as new members were Abigail Donovan, Jacki Bolar and Peggy Kelly. Returning members welcomed were Pat Preece, Kay Sinning, Hubbard and Joann Neven.

The 2023 officers are Hubbard, president; Cynthia Mansager, vice president; Neven, corresponding and recording secretaries and historian; Brandi Kerwood, treasurer; Sheryl Readout, assistant treasurer; Nancy Earney, volunteer coordinator.

The board looked at the focus of this group to provide local educational historical information to the community, maintenance, repair and upkeep of historic Binford House, along with displaying artifacts and history related to the Binford House and Binford Family.

The board is grateful to 2022 community donors to the historic Binford House as the costs increase each year to maintain it as a social venue in the county and tourist community.

The For the Love of Binford House Event will NOT be held in February 2023 and return in the future.

Discussions were held in regard to revenue income events, house maintenance increases, new menus and pricing, social events and historical promotion of the house and family. Committees will soon be named to accomplish these opportunities.
