100 Women Who Care donates to various agencies

The Marshalltown philanthropic group, 100 Women Who Care, will meet at 5:30 p.m. on April 20 at Elmwood Country Club, 1734 Country Club Lane. All area women are invited to attend. Members may nominate local charities or projects for the membership to vote on. The entire donation from the group will go to the cause the membership selects. For further information or to RSVP, contact Janet Collison at janet.collison@gmail.com. 100 Women’s most recent donation was nominated by Shelley Goecke who was concerned about food insecurity in Marshall County. Goecke proposed that United Way facilitate the donation to five local agencies addressing this problem. The donation totaled $13,345 and will be distributed to The Salvation Army, Youth Shelter Services, Child Abuse Prevention Services, Emergency Food Box and House of Compassion.
