New members help TTT prepare June 24 Golf Tournament

CONTRIBUTED PHOTO Newest members of Iowa ET, one of two Marshalltown TTT chapters, are Clare Wing (left) and Angie Cope. Both have “jumped right in” since the initiations as TTT sisters, and are taking active roles in fundraising to support TTT’s mission of sending local girls to summer camps.

Two recently initiated members of Iowa ET, the National TTT Society, had key roles at the chapter’s March meeting, held at the First Presbyterian Church.

Angie Cope served as a co-hostess for the meeting, and Clare Wing, volunteering to assist with the chapter’s June 24 Golf Tournament at the American Legion, is working on a Facebook page with information about the tournament.

Lisa Dougall, general chairman for the June tournament, updated members on tasks she has completed and ones that members will be doing between now and then: a gambling license has been purchased to allow for raffles, contacts have been made seeking help with lunches which will be served to all golfers, several monetary gifts have been received and follow-up calls to other potential donors will be made by chapter members.

Reservations for the April 21-22 State TTT Convention need to be made by April 1; the meeting will be at Riverside Casino in Riverside.

President Deb Nuss met recently with planners for the October 2023 National Convention which will be in Johnston and announced that members Maria Hazen and Sarah Benscoter have volunteered for reservations and signage for the convention’s market place. A sign-up sheet for volunteers for market place set-up, hostessing and closing, was distributed.

News about three former campers who are now attending college or a trade school with TTT assistance was shared by Lorraine Schultz representing ET’s Scholarship Committee.

Starting at $4.38/week.
