“It is our pleasure to award $1,000 scholarships to Alexa McKeever, Bawi Par and Chesni Uhde,” said Ladonna Allison, chair of the local scholarship committee for Chapter BB.

McKeever is the daughter of Jeremiah and Katherine McKeever. She plans on attending Iowa State University to major in event management and minor in marketing.

Par is the daughter of Hoi Par. She plans on attending the University of Iowa and major in nursing.

Uhde is the daughter of Kami and Chip Uhde. She will attend ISU and major in marketing and minor in event management.

“These students have been on the honor roll and have a long list of extracurricular activities and community volunteer involvement all while maintaining academic excellence. We are proud to recognize, celebrate and encourage these outstanding young women”, said Carolyn Anderson, president of Chapter BB.

The International P.E.O. Sisterhood is a 154-year-old women’s organization with the mission of helping women reach for the stars in their educational pursuits. Chapter BB was founded 126 years ago. Its local scholarship program was established to honor and provide educational funds to Marshalltown High School women.
