Chapter NU met June 3 and celebrated Martha Brestel’s 50-year membership with P.E.O. After the regular business meeting, Brestel gave the program on P.E.O.’s Cottey College located in Nevada, MO after recently visiting the campus. The highly rated all women’s college was founded in 1884 and has consistently educated more than 300 women each year. Brestel was initiated into her mother’s and mother-in-law’s P.E.O. Chapter AU in Purdue, NE, when she was very young. She has remained an active member all these years in various chapters wherever she has lived in the U.S.A. Brestel (center) hosted the meeting in her home and was assisted by tea committee Cathy Stevens (L) and Deb Ruddick (R).
