St. Rita’s Study Club begins a new year

St. Rita’s Study Club of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish held its first meeting of the 2024-25 year on Sept 26 at the St Henry Dining Room. Co-hostesses were Pat Kirner, Judy Anderson and Carol Jansen. This years officers are Mary Mauk, Jeanne Oetker, Cindy Staron and Denise Holubar.

President Mauk opened the meeting with the Annual September Meeting Prayer and the Prayer to St. Rita. The minutes from the May meeting were read and approved and the treasurers report given. Throughout the year members will lead discussion using chapters of the study book chosen for the year, “Wisdom From Women in Scripture.”

Julie Graber, new principal at St. Francis Catholic School, presented the program. Much of her work background has been related to education through the AEA in different parts of the state. She shared her thoughts about the positive aspects she has seen in the school thus far and what she hopes to see the school enhancing or improving in the coming years.

The next meeting will be October 24 at St. Henry dining room. St. Rita’s, a Catholic women’s organization, meets monthly. New members are welcome. If people have questions call St. Francis of Assisi office, 641-752-6278.
