Located at the east edge of Marshalltown Arts & Cultural Center’s pond (Formerly Fisher Community Center) is a cozy, sun-loving Marshalltown Evening Lions’ Club “Memorial Bench” commemorating dedicated members who have passed since 2018. A name placard in memory of the late Jim Adair was recently installed with Jim’s widow, Connie, and youngest daughter Nikki and her family present along with a few current members. It was so befitting that Jim’s placard was placed over the “1970” as Jim was a charter member of the Marshalltown Evening Lions which was established in 1970. Jim’s job with Fisher/Emerson drew him away for several years, but after his retirement he rekindled his joy in helping to Serve the Community through active participation in the Marshalltown Evening Lions Club.
