Beta Sigma Phi holds Valentine’s meeting

Beta Sigma Phi, Sigma Master chapter met for lunch at El Portal on Feb. 11. Nine members and one guest answered roll call question: “What was your favorite memory of Valentines Day?”

President Dorothy Perry thanked Diane Hobson for hosting the day. Alice Nicholson read the minutes of the January meeting with no corrections, and Barb Noid gave the Treasurer’s report with no change also.

Health reports were given with reports of two fallen, and one receiving several stitches on her face, and recovering. With that, therapy is needed for three. Member Joyce Roddan, living in Johnston called Perry with update on her health also.

Food items were collected for the Food Pantry and Hobson will deliver. Motion was made by Nicholson that we collect items needed for the Iowa River Hospice next month, and Caralee Hutchens seconded the motion with all in favor to bring to the next meeting as our Service Project continues to assist those in need.

A thank you to the International Service Chairman Cynthiia Meadows for 90th birthday card received to Nicholson, as was so appreciated.

With no other business, announcement was made the next meeting will be hosted by Karen

Shipley-Cooper at Pizza Ranch (after their week of remodeling).

Starting at $4.38/week.
