Twentieth Century hears Jordan-Heintz

Sara Jordan-Heintz, journalist, author and founder of The Write Club, was the guest speaker at the Twentieth Century Club Fall Luncheon on Sept. 22 at the First Methodist Church. She spoke about her writing career and her recent book, “The Incredible Life and Mysterious Death of Dorothy Kilgallen,” a trailblazing journalist, syndicated columnist and investigative reporter who covered major news and high profile murder cases during her career. She was also a panelist on the famous “What’s My Line?” television program. Skeptical of the Warren Commission’s report following the assassination of President John Kennedy, she began an investigation into his death and discovered that witnesses were changing their stories and much information about the events was restricted. She covered Jack Ruby’s trial in Dallas. The circumstances surrounding her own death are suspicious and possibly connected to her investigation. Jordan-Heintz’s book is an informative and interesting look at Kilgallen’s life and death. Mary Jefferson, president, presided over the luncheon. The social committee included Peggy Niedermann, Marlene Bauder and Charlene Smothers. Pictured are Jefferson, left, with Jordan-Heintz.
