The Marshalltown Evening Lions brought the 2025 Fall & Holiday Candy & Nut Fundraiser to a close when they had their March meeting at the Iowa River Hospice home. We were very proud and honored to present “the big check” and of course, the negotiable check for $6,000 in proceeds to Shauna Callaway, executive Director of Iowa River Hospice along with several of their staff.

Marshalltown Evening Lions set out a 2025 hefty goal for our small club to raise $5000 earmarked for the Iowa River Hospice for the REFRESH project of the IRH facility. With a BIG THANK YOU to our vendors, the community and consumers, we were not just able to meet our goal but to exceed by $1000. “I think the community knowing their purchase proceeds would be going to such a great organization as the Iowa River Hospice with a facility in our own backyard had a lot to do with exceeding our expectations,” said MEL President Deb Estabrook.
