Chapter JU-LT hears about Guiding Star
CONTRIBUTED PHOTO Changing the narrative of women’s healthcare was the recent program of P.E.O. Chapter JU-LT. The organization of Guiding Star Marshalltown presented the subject of natural choice for women’s healthcare.
The recent P.E.O. Chapter JU-LT meeting was held at the Guiding Star Marshalltown location where Executive Director Lindi Trowbridge presented information on the organization’s history and their many services, classes and groups.
By means of the natural choice for women’s healthcare, Trowbridge explained that Guiding Star provides natural fertility services; pregnancy and childbirth tests, support and classes; breastfeeding and postpartum support; family life services and special events.
Following the informative program, Chapter JU-LT President Marlys Smith called the meeting to order and Chaplain Jennie VanGundy read the scripture of Mark 10:29-30.
Appetizing refreshments were prepared and served by Karen Bursley.
The next meeting will be held May 4 at the Binford House where the President will recognize and award the chapter’s two new scholarship recipients.
Founded in 1869, the philanthropic educational organization (P.E.O.) focuses on women supporting women through education, scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College.
