Beta Sigma Phi, Sigma Master Chapter President Dorothy Perry opened the first meeting of the new year thanking Jan Keller for hosting. Seven members were present, one guest and two absent.
Secretary Alice Nicholson read the minutes of the last May meeting, and Barb Noid gave the Treasurer’s report announcing that $20 membership is due.
Health reports were given with one recovering from knee surgery, and another treating on dialysis. Others are under doctor’s care and gaining strength.
It was reported the members enjoyed lunch at Holy Grounds in June. In July, they went to Bricktown Bakery in Nevada for purchases of lunch and yummy donuts, and sweets. And in August they went to Toledo, and enjoyed lunch at A -9 Chinese restaurant. The report on that day was “we shall return.”
Conversations continued about the new business openings at our newly Marshalltown Mall with Burlington Coats, and T.J. Maxx joining Five Below, and Shoes Sensation having been moved to a larger area. Marshalltown will also enjoy the parking lot getting resurfaced.
The meeting closed announcing that Jackie Fiscus will host the next meeting on Oct. 13.
