Located on Marsh Avenue, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service played a key role in creating a plan in the now complete Mann Wetlands Wildlife Management Area. "They designed a wetland for us," said Marshall County Conservation Board Director Emily Herring, as she recounted the collaborative efforts of Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Pheasants Forever in the wetland-prairie restoration project of the Marshall County Conservation Board.

Today, the beautiful Mann Wetlands, located south of Albion, is open to the public to enjoy, observe wildlife and hunt.

Following the Wetlands program, President Marlys Smith emphasized the P.E.O. STAR scholarship student application information in the current P.E.O. Record publication.

Refreshments were served by Dee Burt and Tracy Ostrem. The next meeting will be a fall luncheon at the Binford House on Oct. 5.
