Paul and Carrie Barr, of Marshalltown, are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Heidi Helen Christina, to David James Evans, son of Carolyn Evans, of Pamona, Calif., and Wayne Evans, of Ontario, Calif.

Heidi is a 2005 graduate of Marshalltown High School and a 2009 graduate of Texas Christian University with degrees in social work and writing. She is employed as a therapist by the Center for Autism and Related Disorders as well as pursuing a master’s degree in social work from California State University at Long Beach.

David is a graduate of Upland High School in Upland, Calif., and a graduate of California Polytechnic State University with a degree in business administration with an emphasis in technology and operations management. David is employed by Northrup Grumman and is a 2nd Lieutenant in the U. S. Army Reserves.

The couple will be married on Sept. 7 at La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
