New doctor joins Marshalltown Emergency Department

UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown announces Dr. Joseph Toulouse, MD, will join the UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown Emergency Department effective Dec. 31.

“We are very excited to have Dr. Toulouse as a part of our Marshalltown team,” Jenni Friedly, president of UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown, said. “Dr. Toulouse brings extensive knowledge and many years of experience in caring for ER patients. Dr. Toulouse’s arrival will support our efforts to improve the patient experience as well as improve the overall quality of our patient care.”

Toulouse, a graduate of the University of Iowa – Carver College of Medicine, began his career in medicine after completing a family medicine residency at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. In 2002, Toulouse began working as an emergency room physician in Wauchula, Fla. Toulouse has worked in emergency medicine for 16 years. In 2013, he joined the UnityPoint Health provider team and has practiced in UnityPoint Health hospitals in Muscatine, Dubuque, Fort Dodge, Waterloo and Sioux City.

Toulouse is board certified family medicine physician through the American Board of Family Medicine.
