Political sign torched on local street
Pictured is what remains of a large Trump-Pence sign torched recently in the 600 block of Westwood Dr.
If apprehended, a perpetrator or perpetrators would face charges for reckless use of fire, arson in the 3rd degree and criminal mischief 5th degree, according to a Marshalltown police report.
Other Trump-Pence signs on the property have been stolen, knocked-down, or repeatedly vandalized over a period of several weeks, resulting in property owners contacting police and the Times-Republican.
One Trump-Pence sign was torn down three times, before it became unrepairable.
Unfortunately, a replacement sign, only smaller, lasted three hours before being destroyed.
Ironically, just a few feet away are signs for other Republican office seekers which have been untouched.
